Jill Hirsh is a successful cellist and multi-instrumentalist who finds herself inspired and fulfilled by her work as an educator and performer. Jill is based in the South Bay Area of California where she is in high demand. Jill had performed in multiple countries by the age of 12 and has been active in her pursuit as a musician since. Jill earned a bachelors degree in cello performance, however, while in college she began to study the violin again, after a twelve year break; she received lessons on both cello and violin at the collegiate level. While in college, Jill played cello and viola in the SJSU Symphony Orchestra, cello and violin in the New Music Ensemble Disrupt, and violin in Mariachi oro Azul. Jill enjoys her work performing as an orchestral cellist, playing weddings and events, collaborating and recording with composers, and participating in chamber groups.
Recently, Jill has performed cello with her string quartet Serenading Strings, performed on cello with the Cambrian Symphony Orchestra, performed On cello with Smokey Robinson, performed on violin and guira with Conjunto Trujillo, and performed on both cello and violin with the Renegade Orchestra.
She is obtaining a single subject teaching credential and MAT , maintaining a private studio of over twenty students (cello, violin, and viola), and provides specialized sectional coaching to local public school orchestras. Jill has extensive experience working with orchestras, cello choirs, and chamber music ensembles, and is passionate about making music education accessible to all.
